If we spent more money locally on an independently owned business than a national chain millions of dollars would be returned to our community.
Take the Lawrence Community for instance. If every family in the Lawrence metro area spent just $10 a month with a locally owned, independent business instead of a national chain, over $3,593,827 would be directly returned to the Lawrence community. That means better schools, better roads, more support for police, fire and rescue departments and stronger local economies. ~ www.IndependentWestAnd.org
Can you imagine what that would do for our little community if we did our best to shop locally? It may be a little more expensive than reaching out to national chains or businesses in the city. But think of all the ways that could make our community stronger!
